We have a set of thriving allotments at Ransom’s Rec which, together with the Triangle Garden and Forest Garden, form the focus of our social therapeutic horticulture projects.
Our allotments, with their raised beds, sheltered gathering space and small polytunnel demonstrate how flexible a small growing space can be, with fruit bushes tucked under the lime trees, composting and leaf mould bins, rainwater collection and even a small pond to attract and sustain beneficial wildlife.
Next to our communal shelter we have a small outdoor kitchen where we can prepare and cook healthy soups, snacks and smoothies made from the produce we grow.
