Creating a Forest Garden

Using our Forest Garden, started in 2011, we will spend the day looking at the principles of creating, planning, planting and maintaining a Forest Garden. Broadly covering the following topics

  • What is a forest garden?
  • The need for shelter
  • Soils, aspect and microclimate
  • Maintaining a closed system with inbuilt fertility
  • The different layers of a forest garden
  • Maintaining a forest garden
  • Useful resources

Your tutor will be Steve Granger, our Site and Horticulture Manager, who has been managing and developing our Forest Garden since 2014.
Tea and coffee will be provided, please bring a packed lunch.
