Join us for our Summer Fete on 15th September where we celebrate our beautiful community nature garden with music, dance, crafts, food and drink! Download a programme here!

This is a free event – please come along and bring family and friends! Bring your cup not your car! If you bring your own cup you’ll get a discount off all drinks that would otherwise be served in a disposable cup. The event is less than 5 minutes walk from Hitchin rail station and associated bus stops.

This year we’re very excited to have a wellbeing area with tai chi and yoga for adults and kids as well as a green woodworking demonstration from Ali the Wood Turner!

There’ll be live music including Garden City Samba’s Brazilian carnival percussion, violinists Tegan and Alfie, solo artist Yolanda Gabrielle and acoustic covers band Neon Skies. Plus dance from Wild Soul Sisterhood, Tuesday Dance and Emerald Dance Academy’s Bollywood Kids Troupe!

There will be garden tours – 11.30am for the community garden and forest garden and 2pm for our Growing Ability growing plots – suggested donation £3.50 per tour (the cost of a coffee), plus free taster sessions in tai chi (11.15am) yoga for kids (11.45am) and yoga for adults (12.15pm) – all bookable here – or in person on the day if you like to live dangerously! There’s also a nature photography exhibition in the Pavilion curated by Hitchin Camera Club, and Dog Agility demo’s and ‘have a go’ sessions (£1.50 per go) from Wrayfield Agility all through the event.

Food and drink will be provided by local favourites Sam’s Pizza, Viv’s Kitchen (home-made West African food), Sizzlers Street Food (burgers and hot dogs), hot and cold drinks from Cafe2U, whippy cones from B’s icecreams, best before bargains from the Food Rescue Hub and fruit smoothies from the Growing Ability pedal-powered smoothie bike! Come hungry, leave happy! Sadly we’ve been let down by the bar provider, so no mobile bar this year, but you’re welcome to bring your own alchoholic drinks to the event under our current licensing arrangements.

Stalls will include Triangle Garden plants, jams and chutneys, Triangle Garden kids crafts, Growing Ability stall with our new pedal-powered smoothie maker! Plus Flor de Luna Upcycling, Hitchin Nature Network, Tuuli Parker Jewellery, The Yoga Shed, Lulu Witch, Vicki Baker Creates, All you Need is Yarn, Vintage Games, Impressions facepainting, River Hiz Conservation Group, NHerts Beekeepers, RSPB, Wildlife Trusts, NHFriends of the Earth, Take the Jump, plus Triangle Garden’s welly wanging range!
